Leisure Activities in

The Wugui Hall

The Wugui Hall is the ancestral home of the Huangling villagers and belonged to one of the prominent families in Huangling. Covering an area of over 200 square meters, it was originally owned by Cao Yanqi, the father of Cao Wenzhi, the Prime Minister during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The name of the hall embodies the owner's hopes for his descendants. The wood carvings inside are grand and exquisite. Due to his philanthropy and good deeds, Cao Yanqi eventually reaped rich rewards. The name "Wugui Hall" symbolizes the auspicious wishes of "Five Sons Achieving Success in the Imperial Exams" and "Plucking the Moon Cinnamon" (a metaphor for achieving high honors).
